๐How It Works โ Staking, P&L & The Website
The staking plan
Every selection is 1 point, level stakes. That means the same stake on every single pick โ no chasing losses, no doubling up, no variable "confidence" stakes. One point, every time, win or lose.
Why level stakes? Because it's the only honest way to measure if a system actually works. If a tipster varies stakes, they can hide a losing system behind a couple of big-staked winners. Level stakes can't be fudged โ the profit is real or it isn't.
A "point" is whatever you choose it to be. If ยฃ10 = 1 point, a +50pt week = +ยฃ500. If ยฃ2 = 1 point, it's +ยฃ100. Scale it to your own bankroll โ never bet more than you're comfortable losing.
How the P&L is calculated
Profit/loss is worked out at advised price โ the official price every horse is returned at when the race goes off.
- A winner returns its advised price minus the stake.
- A loser loses the 1pt stake โ โ1 point.
Example: a horse wins at 5.0 advised โ profit = 5.0 โ 1 = +4 points.
Each day we add up every selection: winners pay out at their advised price, losers cost 1pt each. The total is the day's P&L. Add the days together = the running record.
Why the advised price? Because it's independently verifiable โ nobody can claim a fake price. Every result is settled at the real number the market returned. Wins AND losers are all counted โ no cherry-picking the good days.
๐ The website gives you the full picture
The Telegram posts give you the selections. The website adds:
- The verified results panel โ complete P&L, strike rates and ROI, updated daily
- The tier ratings (Platinum / Gold / Silver / Bronze) showing how strong each selection is
- The spotlight commentary on each runner โ the form notes and reasoning behind the race
If you want to understand why a horse is fancied โ the form, the going, the trip โ the site has the commentary laid out race by race. The Telegram tips are the quick version; the website is the detail.
๐How To Use The Tips
Rank 1 vs Rank 2
Each race has two selections:
- Rank 1 = the model's strongest pick. Higher strike rate (wins more often), usually shorter odds.
- Rank 2 = the value angle. Wins less often but at bigger prices โ and over time it's actually been the bigger earner.
You can back both, or just one. Backing both per race covers more winners but costs more in stakes. Backing Rank 1 only is tighter and steadier. Your choice โ the record tracks both separately so you can see how each performs.
Win or each-way?
- Under 5/1 (6.0): 1 point to win โ at short prices the place part isn't worth much.
- 6.0 (5/1) and up: back each-way (0.5pt each-way) โ you get paid if the horse just places, which cushions the longer-odds picks.
The record follows the staking rule above โ win under 6.0, each-way at 6.0 and bigger โ which suits the longer-priced Rank 2 value picks especially.
Staking โ keep it simple
- Under 5/1 (6.0): 1pt win. 6.0+: 0.5pt each-way. Same rule every time.
- Set your point size to your bankroll. A common rule: 1 point = 1โ2% of your total betting bank. So a ยฃ200 bank โ ยฃ2โยฃ4 a point. That way a losing run never wipes you out.
- Never chase. Losing days happen โ even a profitable system has them. Flat stakes through the downswings is how the edge plays out.
- Only bet what you can afford to lose. This is entertainment with an edge, not income.
Timing your bets
Back every selection at advised price. Take the advised price shown, ideally the night before or early โ that is the price our record settles at.
The prices shown in each post are a current-market guide only. Prices drift and steam through the day, so the morning figure is rarely the final one. The advised price is the real, takeable price โ and it's exactly what our record settles at. Grabbing the advised price early is the point - you beat the closing market.
Judge it over weeks, not days
One day means little โ good or bad. The edge shows over a proper sample. Follow the running record on the site and judge the system over weeks. That's how value betting works.
